If you find a LOST DOG, please wait a DAY or overnight to see if the Owners claim it. Post it on social media, Craigslist or ask neighbors.
DO NOT take it to MAUI HUMANE SOCIETY.
It's going to cost the Owner MONEY.. either $76 or $11, JUST to retrieve the dog. plus they will charge you for holding the animal too.
It's not helpful taking it there because the Owner will have to pay and possibly get a ticket too.
It's UNFAIR to charge money just to get your dog, like jail. RIDICULOUS !
I realize the leash law, but mistakes happen especially during this week when dogs are running off.
The Humane society is banking on every dollar for lost animals and any which way they can get money.
