Duct Tape Derby at Winterplace Festival! Boy Scout Troop 461 is hosting a Duct Tape Derby as part of Wilmington Works' Winterplace Festival. They invite you to make a sled from cardboard and duct tape (materials also allowed: paint, markers, and decorative items like decals, etc.). Bring your creation to Winterplace Festival (running from 12-3:30 on Saturday January 15th) and ride it down the sledding hill! Derby begins at 2 pm. Prizes will be given for the longest run & the most creative sled! WW Building supply is sponsoring a "buy one get 2 free" duct tape offer for derby entrants. Present your proof of entry email at WW building supply at 434 Rte. 100 North in Wilmington to redeem. Wilmington Works is a non-profit community development organization with the mission "to build, improve, and support a vital downtown that benefits the entire Wilmington, VT community."  Wilmington Works was born in 2013 as a group of local citizens got together to help the continued restoration of our town following the ravages of Tropical Storm Irene. With that crisis behind us, the work is not done! We sponsor block parties, Village Strolls, and other events to enliven our town and bring the community together. ​We continue to work behind the scenes and with local business owners, citizens, and the town to help make our town a better place to live and visit.
