Description
This series is for therapists who want to gain advanced skills to treat specific conditions with confidence. I have been a therapist for 36 years and a Chiropractor of 25 years. I have taught Anatomy and Physiology at Colleges and at Chicago School of Massage Therapy. As a continuing education provider for NCBTMB (our national certification board), I have taught advanced seminars around the country focusing on the relationship between medical conditions and advanced therapeutic techniques. Each class is listed in detail on askdrmakris.wordpress.com. You can check out the muscles we will use in each session and some referred pain patterns. Any questions can be sent to me directly at [email protected] WHAT IS MEDICAL MASSAGE THERAPY - MMT? Medical Massage typically focuses on a specific medical diagnosis. This can be from a referral or as part of a recurring treatment plan. The exact techniques and protocols vary for each client. Someone's health status, age, surgery history and other factors affect how you plan the sessions. The session centralizes on the body parts that are of area of concern. This is instead of a full body massage. The therapist must have a deep understanding of regional anatomy and kinesiology. This allows you to explain referred pain patterns and educate on stretches and resting techniques for the region involved. Class I Upper Extremity THIS CLASS IS ALREADY FILLED. Any meat proteins will be on the side. askdrmakris.wordpress.com Dr. Gina Makris, MS., DC., LMT
