JOB TITLE: Maintenance Supervisor LOCATION: MRF Tajiguas Landfill FLSA EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt PREPARED DATE: February 2020 REPORTS TO: General Manager DIRECT REPORTS: 6 mechanics and 3 mechanic helpers. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the process and executing long-term strategic plans. Sets a positive example to inspire subordinates to follow your example. Qualities include optimism, self-motivation, care, promptness, and trustworthiness. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following: · Schedule, train and motivate employees for maintenance tasks · Ability to diagnose mechanical & electrical equipment including PLC’s · Develop CMMS to implement with Parts Inventory, Parts Area, Maintenance Area · Coordinate work performed by outside vendors · Build a troubleshooting & preventative maintenance guide · Develop planned maintenance system that accurately tracks all equipment data · Monthly updates to all reports and maintenance manuals to meet county requirements · Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates · Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts · Control and monitor inventory · Develop familiarity with an ensure compliance with safety, health, environment and community company policies and procedures as they pertain to facility operations and equipment usage and operation · Perform other duties as assigned · Help make this a fun place to work. EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent business experience required LANGUAGE SKILLS: Position requires excellent verbal and written English communication skills including; ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Basic Spanish communication skills desired. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATIONS: None.
