We are looking for high-energy individuals to join our team in Santa Barbara as Skilled Laborers to work on residential projects throughout the Santa Barbara Area. Position Overview:The persons in this position will support residential construction projects by performing a variety of tasks involving manual labor including but not limited to: Laying building materials, performing physical tasks, digging out areas of job site, moving materials and equipment, maintaining a clean and safe job-site, and providing support to in-house trades. Skilled laborers provide assistance to: foremen and carpentry and concrete crews. Requirements: High school diploma or GEDReliable transportation to job sites throughout Santa Barbara and surrounding areasValid driver's license and clean driving history2+ years experience in construction preferably in upscale/luxury constructionBasic understanding of construction terminologyAble to perform physically demanding tasks (including lifting at least 50lbs)Able to work outside in extreme weatherAble to effectively communicate verbally and written in EnglishHave a strong work ethic with attention to detail and safetyBasic understanding of construction tools and practicesSafety consciousWillingness to go 'above and beyond" to get the job doneProvide proof of ability to work in the USDESIRED:4 years progressive construction labor experienceAble to speak a 2nd language, preferably SpanishBasic knowledge/skills in tradesHave own toolsESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to stand, sit, squat, turn, bend, operate telephone, see, speak, hear, write, work with tools, lift up to 40 pounds, work in environmental conditions including but not limited to: extreme heat, rain, wind, humid and/or cold conditions and to vibration.
