My friend Jenni, “English Alabama Girl”, told me about the great fun of going to Car Boot (trunk) Sales in England. Instead of having strangers at your home or driving all over town looking for garage sale bargains, they fill their car up & gather in a field for a one stop community yard sale! Fun right?! So we are hosting Auburn/Opelika’s first Car Boot Sale and Local Market on January 22, 9-2:00, adding food trucks, a local market, & entertainment for the kids! SHOPPERS - Free Parking, no ticket required! Just come have fun! No need to read further as the rest of the info is for those participating in the sale or Local Market. ____________________ We're so glad you're joining us for the community wide Firefly Fields Local Market and "Car Boot" Sale! Here are a few guidelines to create a great day for everyone. CAR BOOT SALE (Trunk Sale): $20/car or truck, +$25/trailer -This "yard sale" will take place in the fields, with cars/trucks parking in rows nose to nose, leaving 10 feet between the vehicles on both sides of you so everyone has room for their things. -Arrive as early as 7:00am to park and set up. If you wish to be parked next to someone else, please follow each other in through the gate. We are not saving spaces or permitting vehicles to drive around in the fields. We will be parking you in rows as you arrive, with those arriving first being parked closest to the backyard area. -For the safety of children and all pedestrians, no vehicles will be admitted into the field after 8:30 am. The sale begins at 9:00 am. - Once parked, please do not move your vehicle until the event is over at 2:00 pm. If you are done early, please lock your vehicle and join the fun, shop, get lunch from a food truck, etc. We are not permitting vehicles to leave until the event is over at 2:00pm for the safety of pedestrians. - You are responsible for your own sales. We recommend cash sales - remember to bring change. There are lots of options to explore for accepting payment with your phone, like Venmo, Cash App, Square etc. WIFI is not available at Firefly Fields. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ LOCAL MARKET Vendors: $50 per 10 x 10 space. - Addition $15 for access to electric - please bring your own extension cords. - The backyard will be set up for entertainment for the kids, food trucks, port-a-pots and Local Market Vendors (artists, makers, local businesses, etc.). There will be NO YARD SALE vendors in the backyard. - Food sales may be permitted by licensed food vendors and licensed food trucks, at a different rate. Please contact us directly for registration information. - Firefly Fields will be the only beverage vendor (except lemonade) and will have water, Coke's, beer & wine available for purchase. - Local Market vendors may bring their vehicles into the backyard to unload from 7:00-8:30am and after 2:00pm. If you need to break down and leave before the event is over, please plan to carry your merchandise out. You may NOT drive your car into the backyard until all customers are gone after 2:00pm. This is for the safety of children and pedestrians and in keeping with Firefly Fields venue licenses and insurance. - Vendors will have a designated parking area in the field, not the backyard. The front parking lot will be used for customer parking. _____________________________________________________________________________________ - This event is rain or shine, with no refunds given. -Participants are responsible for cleaning up and removing trash at tear-down. Please email us with additional questions: [email protected] Firefly Fields event venue and restaurant (formerly Good Ol' Boys) is located on 7 acres in the country, but just 5 miles from Auburn University. The 5000 sq foot restaurant has a music venue, beer & wine bar with a state-of-the-art sound system and stage, seating 250 indoors. Outdoors you'll find a sprawling patio area, with picnic tables, play area, and open fields. Converting from a country restaurant in November 2021 to an event venue, Firefly Fields has hosted a rodeo, DJ dance party, graduatione events, outdoor markets, and concerts. Let us work with you to host your small events or large gatherings, with the tha ability to accomodate 1000's in the backyard. Whatever the occasion, our goal is to become a casual gathering place for the Auburn/Opelika area.
