Topic: Healthcare costs: Why we need to address the cost of delivering healthcare in Alabama and some thoughts on how to do it.
Will Wright leads innovation at Protective Life Corporation. In this role, he and his team run experiments to understand how to make insurance more valuable and how to get it into the hands of more people. He and his team have conducted over 50 projects to date, ranging from deploying AI, leveraging new data streams, and building new ways of working. He also leads efforts to build a culture of innovation at Protective and keep track of relevant technology and investment trends. Will has been a lifelong innovator. He previously co-founded, grew and exited Pack Health (www.packhealth.com) – a digital health coaching company helping people with chronic disease headquartered in Birmingham Alabama. He has led health, technology, and economic development-focused engagements as an independent consultant and with McKinsey & Company, where he built one of the first commercial ACOs among other value-based contracting projects. Will is a mentor and advisor to numerous startups, a board member of the Innovation Depot, and is currently on the Innovation Subcommittee for the American Council of Life Insurers. Will has an MBA and MPH with honors from UC Berkeley and a BA magna cum laude in Biology from Harvard.
