LONG BEACH, NY — The rising cases of COVID-19 are having an impact on the Long Beach Public Library. The main branch will have limited hours this week, leading up to New Year's Eve. Visitors can use the library from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. However, the West End branch is shut until Jan. 5 due to the high positivity rate on Long Island. Data released by Gov. Kathy Hochul's office on Monday indicates Long Island stands at 15.4 percent. That is the highest level of COVID-19 cases in the state.
