Description

LONG BEACH, NY — A special city council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday night. A letter of intent between developer Sinclair Haberman and the city of Long Beach is the topic's lone agenda. The agreement would require the city to pay Haberman $75 million, a 50-percent reduction in a court judgment against the city last year, while granting the developer permission to build two 13-story apartment buildings on Shore Road, between Monroe and Lincoln Boulevard, the LI Herald reported. The buildings would be the tallest in the city. Due to COVID-19 protocols, the council will not be meeting in person. It will be held via videoconferencing. The public can watch the live meeting on the city's YouTube channel. Anyone wishing to directly participate in the meeting can do so by registering for the web conference.
