LONG BEACH, NY — A special city council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday night. A letter of intent between developer Sinclair Haberman and the city of Long Beach is the topic's lone agenda. The agreement would require the city to pay Haberman $75 million, a 50-percent reduction in a court judgment against the city last year, while granting the developer permission to build two 13-story apartment buildings on Shore Road, between Monroe and Lincoln Boulevard, the LI Herald reported. The buildings would be the tallest in the city. Due to COVID-19 protocols, the council will not be meeting in person. It will be held via videoconferencing.
