Updated, 1:30 p.m. Monday TOMS RIVER, NJ — With the surge in new coronavirus cases, the Ocean County Health Department has added testing on Tuesday and Wednesday to its schedule. The COVID-19 drive-thru testing site at Ocean County College will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday in Parking Lot 3 at the college, 1 College Drive, Toms River. The clinic is walk-in only (no appointments necessary) and will only offer PCR testing. No rapid tests and/or saliva testing will be administered. "Due to increased demand, once the test has been performed it's anticipated for results to be returned no earlier than five (5) days," the health department said in an update Monday afternoon. Ocean County Health Department officials said you should get tested if: You are experiencing symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, sore throat, muscle pain, shivering, headache, or new loss of taste or smell)You have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19You are an essential worker (health care worker, first responder, food service worker, or transit worker)You were recently in a large crowd where social distancing was hard to maintainYou recently traveled to an area or a state with high COVID-19 infection rates For more information please visit www.ochd.org or call 732-341-9700.
