Deck Fire Overnight Damages Toms River Home

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A fire on a deck caused minor damage to a home in the Point O Woods development on Sunday, Toms River officials said. The fire at the home on River Bend Drive started late Sunday night but was quickly contained to the deck with "minor extension" into the interior of the home, the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention said in a post on the bureau's Facebook page. Toms River Fire Inspector Ryan LaVigne is investigating the cause of the fire; authorities believe the fire was accidental, the post said. There were no injuries reported. Toms River Volunteer Fire Company 1, Toms River Fire Company 2, East Dover Fire Company and the Island Heights Volunteer Fire Company 1 all responded.
