Description

CONCORD, NH — A man was transported to Concord Hospital after being struck by a vehicle on North State Street on Monday. Just before 8:30 p.m., Concord police and fire and rescue teams were sent to the area outside of Merrimack County Savings Bank and Boutwell's Bowling Center for an accident. Capital region dispatch said the crash involved a pedestrian. New Hampshire State Police were also at the scene, according to police dispatch. When they arrived, the fire commander requested a trauma alert at Concord Hospital saying the victim was a man, in his late-70s, and he was unconscious. Police shut down southbound traffic on the street and detoured those vehicles to Rumford and Penacook streets. According to the first arriving officers, a Toyota Prius struck the pedestrian. A U-Haul pickup truck, according to police, being driven by a woman in her early 60s, may have struck the Prius as part of the accident. The pedestrian was taken to Concord Hospital.
