TROY, MI — Two were killed and another was injured in a Monday morning shooting at a Troy home, police said.
Officials said they believe a 23-year-old man shot his 62-year-old father and twin brother, killing his brother before ultimately shooting himself to death.
The father was treated by officials and transported to the hospital by Alliance Mobile Health, where he remains in critical but stable condition, police said.
A 64-year-old woman was also in the home and was uninjured, police said.
Officers said they responded to a call from the father at a home on Lark Drive at 12:23 a.m. stating his son had shot him. A second call was received almost simultaneously from a resident in the area who said a vehicle crashed into a tree on Parrot Drive near Edgemont Drive, police said.
Officers found the injured father upstairs and the 23-year-old brother shot to death in the basement, police said.
The twin brother, who police believe was responsible for the shooting, was found shot to death from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the vehicle that crashed into the tree, police said. The family dog was also found shot dead in the backseat of the vehicle.
Police recovered a single handgun from the vehicle, which was used in each shooting, police said.
The vehicle was registered to the Lark Drive home, police said.
Officials continue to investigate and all involved are fully cooperating with the investigation, police said.
