Description

Press release from the City of Fargo: 12/26/2021 The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Sunday, December 26 and Monday, December 27 for the Fargo metro area. Based on the forecast, the Fargo Public Works Department is expecting heavy snow accumulations and high winds throughout the overnight hours. Plowing crews will only be focusing on top priority emergency route plowing and re-clearing to ensure first responders and essential services have the ability to travel as needed. Residential Street plowing will not begin until snow accumulation has ended on Monday. Crews intend to clear all residential streets within 24 hours of the end of snowfall. Residents are urged to move their parked vehicles off of City streets as soon as possible to ensure plows can safely and effectively clear all streets. Stuck and abandoned vehicles will be impounded. Commuters should anticipate Monday morning travel will be significantly impacted by this event. For safety reasons, please give snow removal equipment as much room as possible and be patient as crews work diligently to clear the roadways. A stretch of 19th Ave. N. is anticipated to close during the storm. Residents are encouraged to check The City of Fargo's Facebook and Twitter pages for the most up-to-date information regarding road clearing and winter weather events in Fargo.
