Description
To the adventurous person who has done this before,
I purchased a vintage RV..1976 Fleetwood 24ft. The wiring is all pretty much intact and was working prior to me demoing the entire trailer. Here is what i want to do...
- convert to 7 way (right now it is 4)
- Set up a converter, to a deep cell, with probably 400w of solar...for DC power off grid (we boon-dock a lot)
- run all wiring to correct locations in prep before putting walls up
- properly connect and test everything
I am debating ripping out most of the wiring to start fresh and play it safe but that may not be necessary. This is where you come in. I would prefer someone who has done an RV themselves like this before. I kept the integrity of the wiring throughout the demo and didn't discover any tears or breaks but to play it safe i need an extra set of eyes that knows what to look for.
I don't think i would need you for the actual install but maybe i would depending on what you would charge me. We could start by having you come take a look at whats currently going on and go from there. I have to get all wires ran to their correct locations before i can move forward with my rebuild.
For the next 2-3 weeks i am resealing the roof, rebuilding the corner molding and installing the new ac and vents. You can come have a look anytime but this gig probably wouldn't kick off until mid January-Early February.
For reference:
- I am installing a three way fridge
- small electric water heater for occasional shower
- propane stove
- led lights in ceiling
- 3-5 power outlets
- MAYBE electronic brakes
Let me know if you got any questions. Will be a nice opportunity to drink some beer, hang, and enjoy this summery winter.
If you think you are right for the job tell me why and a bit about what rig you have set up before! Thanks.
