 In
 response
 to
 the
 high
 demand
 for
 legally
 trained
 interpreters,
 the
 International
 Translation
 Company,
LLC
is
providing
a
Legal
Interpretation
Training
Program
to
prepare
interpreters
 to
 interpret
 in
 legal
 settings
 with
 more
 ease,
 confidence,
 and
 knowledge
 of
 legal
 vocabulary,
 interpretation
protocols,
and
court
proceedings.

 


 LEGAL
INTERPRETATION
TRAINING


 60
hours
divided
into
two
modules
of
30
hours
each. Module
1:
Theory
of
Interpretation



 Theory
of
interpretation,
with
a
2
hour
final
written
examination
that
will
assess
the
 participants’
understanding
of
the
training
topics.
A
minimum
score
of
75%
on
the
final
 examination
is
required
to
move
on
to
Module
2.

 Module
2:
Practice
Sessions
&
Testing



 30
hours
of
practice
sessions.
Participants
will
have
the
opportunity
to
practice
and
 improve
their
interpretation
skills. PREREQUISITE
ASSESSMENT


 Participants
are
required
to
take
an
ALTA
listening
and
 speaking
language
assessment
consisting
of
an
 over­the­phone
oral
interview
lasting
approximately
 15
to
20
minutes.
Candidates
are
evaluated
on
their
 communication,
comprehension,
grammar,
 and
vocabulary
skills.
