I rescued this bird several months ago but her and my husband had a major falling out so she will need to find her forever home. Please read entire ad and speak to whoever you need to before contacting me. She is roughly 25 years old and still has a ton of life left. Firstly her fee is $850 firm. She will come with her cage, travel carrier, food, and all her toys. She is DNA tested and she will come with that certificate. Alice is a hilarious bird. She talks and knows many phrases and sounds. She laughs, she whistles Andy Griffith, she dances. When she settles in and decompresses she is an amazing companion. Alice is NOT what I would refer to as hand tame. It took me a few weeks of feeding her fruits/veggies and spending time with her before she finally offered me her head, and took a couple weeks after that before she let me pet her. She WILL bite and is not for young children. I have a 2 and a 8 year old who I’ve told that the bird bites just so they’ll leave her be. Alice’s cage door opens at 6 am and she is free to come in and out until I tell her it’s bed time around 10 pm in which she will go in her cage and has started telling me goodnight before I cover her cage up. I work for a vets office and Alice has had a full avian blood panel drawn up. I had also paid for her to be DNA tested. She’s healthy and eats Harrison’s food with fruits and veggies offered daily. I’ve spent so much time with her that she will try to feed me and will sometimes grab my hand with her foot, but she has never stepped up. She does not fly. She can be grabbed with a towel and put in her bird carrier if she needs to go anywhere and she travels well. She is a chronic plucker and does sometimes pull her chest feathers out. She’s done that since before I got her. As previously mentioned she’s had blood work done as well as X-rays, all are clean and no parasites or cause for plucking. Possibly inherited stress from previous living situation. Alice is an awesome bird who really just needs someone to dedicate time to getting to know her. She is not a bird who can be rushed and she’s not a bird you’re going to have hands on on day 2. Please have previous bird knowledge of inquiring or be willing to be a pretty patient person.
