This challenging course will bring the fascinating story of the ancient world alive! This challenging course will bring the fascinating story of the ancient world to vivid life. By using engaging hands-on projects we will deepen our understanding of this time by bringing the stories of the people and places alive. Students will weave together strands from geography, mythology, art, music, poetry, engineering, dance and drama to understand the meaning and importance of this time period. This semester will include the study of primary source material and other important literary works of the time. Maps, timelines and outlines are incorporated into students’ weekly work and students are expected to perform research and write reports. By the end of this dynamic course, students will be able to draw connections from our readings, lectures and projects to the continuing story of our world. Optional field trips to the Worcester Art Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts are offered during the semester (families welcome!). This program runs ten Wednesdays from January 19th-March 30th; 11:30-1:00PM and is designed for students ages 9-12. A non-refundable deposit of $75 will hold your spot and go toward the tuition of $299.00.
