An introduction to play songs, why, and how we use them. Melodies + Play In this dynamic hybrid class, we'll break our time together into two parts. We'll start by making music with any little ones present and finish with information on why using music and singing to our babies are so crucial in supporting their development. Participants will leave having had the chance to experience a music class, learn a few new songs, and understand more about play songs utilized across the early childhood spectrum and how to incorporate that music during playtime at home. Led by Jamie Bendell, MT-BC, LCAT Jamie Bendell is a passionate musician, songwriter, and board-certified music therapist who believes in supporting the growth and goals of those she works with through the use of creative arts. Jamie spent close to a decade songwriting and performing original music before returning to graduate school at New York University and completing her Master's Degree in Music Therapy. Jamie has several years of experience working as a music therapist in early childhood and elementary school settings and has studied the evidence-based use of music during the prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum periods. Jamie welcomed a baby girl in the spring of 2021 and resides in New York City with her family. Questions? Email [email protected] for more details.
