Description
Indigo is a sweet 2 year old heeler with dog and human reactivity. She’s been in our home for 14 months and gets along well with our cat, chickens, and 2 year old nephew that regularly visits. She does not do well in social interactions with strange dogs or people. She has been aggressive with other dogs (snapping, lunging, biting), and barks defensively at unfamiliar humans that approach her. She does do well with our dogs, but a home without other dogs would be best. She would do best in a less social environment (we have a lot of visiting humans and dogs in our household). We also suspect that she has elbow dysplasia, although it has not been diagnosed. She does fine with long walks and hikes but limps after a lot of running or hard play that involves cutting and jumping.
She is very attached to her people and requires a home where people will be around much of the day. She’s perfectly happy lounging around the house most of the day. Her favorite place to be is cuddled up next to one of her humans. She’s very intelligent, well trained, and needs daily mental stimulation. She’s been through several training courses including classes for reactive dogs. She is a quick learner and loves training. Overall, she is a pretty goofy girl that will make you laugh and smile.
Her primary issue is dog aggression. She barks at humans and clearly has anxiety with strangers but has never shown any aggression toward a human. Aside from that she is an amazing dog and an incredibly sweet companion. She needs a home that doesn’t have a lot of people and dogs coming and going or a lot of travel. She need a home with a family that can provide her with the daily mental stimulation, comfort, love, and attention that she requires. Asking for a small rehoming fee of 250.
