Description

NEWTON, MA — Newton Fire Officials responded to multiple car accidents on the Mass Pike westbound on Christmas Eve. The crashes took place between 9 and 10 a.m. near exit 123. Both the Weston and Newton Fire Departments responded to the scene. Fire officials said the crashes were caused by extremely icy conditions, which were also the reason behind crashes in Lexington and across the state. Icy flash freeze conditions exist across the state. Patrols in the Troops are responding to cars sliding off the roads. Roads are being treated. If you can avoid or delay driving please do so.
