Description
SANTA CRUZ, CA — The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is encouraging people to adopt a rabbit by offering discounted adoption fees for them through the end of February.
The shelter is dropping the fee to $22 from its normal $50 amount, which includes spaying or neutering the animal, microchipping it, treating it for fleas and worms and giving it a veterinary exam before adoption.
Rabbits adopted during the "Winter Wonderland" special at the shelter at 1001 Rodriguez St. in Santa Cruz will also go home in a carrier, county officials said. More details about the shelter and its animals available for adoption can be found here.
