FREMONT, CA — Police in Fremont are warning drivers to avoid Niles Canyon Road, which was closed early Sunday morning because of debris in the roadway caused by a slide.
In a 1:40 a.m. news release, police said Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol are assessing the situation but that an estimate is not yet available for when the road will reopen.
Police did not indicate where the slide occurred on the roadway, also known as State Route 84, which runs from Fremont east to Interstate Highway 680.
