Description
We have several handyman projects that we would like to get done. We're looking for good quality work, done quickly, by experienced and reliable people. If you have experience doing some, but not all of these projects. No problem, we are happy to get different people for different jobs. When you reply, simply let me know: 1) Your hourly rate (for items 1-13). Ideally, we're looking for hourly rates for those projects between $15 and $25. 2) Which of these projects you are comfortable doing and what you are not comfortable doing. 3) When you'd be available to start 4) Your name, phone number and a little about your experience. I prefer your reply by EMAIL. Sometimes I miss texts, so email is just easier. Also, please do not call me. I'm often in meetings, so calls can be distracting. Once I see your email, if we've not already gotten someone for the job, I'll call you. Projects include: 1) Fix 1 side of a side-by-side bathroom faucet that won't turn. Likely needs valve replacement. Would ask you to identify what kind we'd need and buy at Home Depot or Lowes. 2) Re-affix reverse osmosis faucet in kitchen - the faucet came loose under the granite countertop. It all still works, just is the hardware underneath is hard to get to to tighten it down again. 3) Install an Amazon Alexa Smart Thermostat 4) Install a Ring floodlight security camera over our garage door 5) Fix our garage door...it's not been opening or closing normally for a while. Sometimes it will open normally. Sometimes not. Sometimes it will open or close part way, then stop and reverse. If we hit the button when it starts to reverse, it will continue to open or close a bit more, then stop and reverse again. So, sometimes we have to hit the button multiple times to get it to open or close. Could be a loose track or ??? We've gotten used to just opening/closing it manually, but would like to get it fixed. 6) Replace weather strip under garage door (there's a piece missing) 7) Fix a new leak in dining room window casing (could be flashing, but not sure. Could also be coming from flat 1-story roof area, just above the window. But, I'm guessing it's the window flashing. Will need to remove interior sill, which seems a bit warped, let dry out, see if there's any additional damage to the drywall that would necessitate any additional materials/replacement. May require prime/painting of 1 wall. 8) Potential replacement of weather strip under front door 9) Replace a couple floor pieces by front door that seem to have been damaged. It's a very small area. The pieces are bamboo, but are shaped like typical laminate flooring planks. It think it could have been old water damage to the floor from before we moved in, which caused the first couple boards to split...that's why we think the weather strip under the front door may need to be replaced, but we're not sure. 10) We have a few wood dining room chairs that got damaged when we moved in...basically big scratches. There's not a ton of damage, but for what is damaged, we'd like to have the damaged areas sanded and re-stained. 11) Do you know how to restretch carpet? We have a very small area that our dog chewed on a when he was a puppy. it's right on the edge of the carpet, where it comes into contact with the tile. Likely about 1/2" wide x 6" long. We'd need to restretch that 1/2". 12) We have some minor touch-up paint in a about half a dozen areas as well as a 1-side of bathroom pocket door and 2 sides of a mirrored closet door (like a 4-5" wood frame around a mirror on both sides of the door) that need paint. 13) Clean and oil the 3 lamps in the front of the house. 14) This next one is ONLY for people with a LOT of cabinetry experience. We have kitchen cabinets that are in pretty good but not perfect condition. Structurally, they're fine. The doors are ok...just older and have some fading from water around the sink. They are solid wood shaker-style and my wife is interested in sanding and making them white. She would also like to make the drawers soft-close. The trash/recycling drawers need new tracks as they are not well affixed, have some missing/loose screws so don't seem to support the weight well. May need to reinforce those a bit more than other areas. Also have some bowing under the recipe book shelf and liquor shelf, so perhaps some reinforcing on those areas. I'm not sure how old the cabinets are as they were installed by the previous owners, But, basically, she wants the cabinets/drawers/facings/doors to look new again. For the cabinets, she'd like a few people to come take a look at them and give us their opinion, talk options and provide a quote for them as a separate project.
