AlphaGraphics is currently looking for two high energy and positive sign production technicians; one for our North Austin facility and one for our downtown Austin facility. Responsibilities: • Performs onsite and offsite sign installations (max 10 foot ladder and mainly inside) • Operate sign production equipment including a Zund • Follows a layout to place computer-generated vinyl or full color graphic images on a pre-determined substrate or medium • Prepares substrates for application, which may include cutting, laminating, cleaning, and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application • Performs quality assurance measures pre- and post-production • Performs finishing operations such as weeding, cutting. Grommets, packaging, laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces • Performs routine machine maintenance and minor repairs when necessary • Establishes and maintains effective team relationships with all support departments • Works on different projects simultaneously Skills and Experience: • Prefer 2 years of experience with vinyl application and/or sign installs but will train the right person • Familiar with large and grand-format printers (HP / EFI) • Familiar with a digital cutter such as our Zund cutter • Knowledgeable with RIP software; Onyx, Fiery • Familiar with banner finishing such as hemming & grommets • Familiar with mounting and laminating graphics Requirements: • Valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation • Able to lift 55 pounds • Able to stand during entire shift • Must have the flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate • Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers and fractions and converting fractions to decimals and vice versa)
