Bassist needed for heavy melodic band

Meets

Milford MA

Description

About Us: We are Caustic Echoes…..currently a 4 pc(vocals, drums 2 guitars) melodic metal band out of the Boston area. Our previous bassist amicably parted ways due to some personal issues outside of the band and we are looking to fill his big shoes. We have an amazing vocalist who can sing and scream his ass off, a drummer who doesn’t have too many physical drumming limitations (yes he can do fast double bass all day long) and 2 guitarists that play lead guitar in any metal band. Our musical style is a hybrid style mixing elements of progressive melodic metal to thrash to metalcore to even sounds you might hear on hard rock stations. Our sound is a hybrid of Killswitch, Novelists Fr, Erra, Lamb of God, Alice in Chains and others. Our music can range from full, balls out screaming to more slow and melodic and even hook driven ballads. Our emphasis is on well written songs that are palatable to most metal or rocks ears with hook driven vocals, but that doesn’t imply we won’t rip yiur face off when needed. Basically, we have a little something for everyone. We released a simplistic self-titled 3 track EP (https://open.spotify.com/artist/48Qqyz0NoXre3o86q2JNO5) and are actively recording our debut full length album. We have a couple additional completed, unreleased tracks, but any bassist jumping aboard can help finish the songs we are actively working on. I can also provide a link to a Soundcloud page with the entire album if we get some dialogue going and you seem like a good fit to bring down to try out. What we’re looking for: The most important aspect will be your availability. We value that as your best ability beyond being a competent player. Yes we are all fully up to what's going to soon be required to play shows and we prefer you to be as well. We cannot turn down shows because of this issue… We are looking for someone reliable. We should only miss our minimum practices for live events, family emergencies, or personal vacations. We are all relying on each other to make this work and with 5 of us total we need to be consistent week to week whenever possible to push this thing forward. We want a real bass player. This means if you play bass because you struggled on guitar then this is also not going to be the band for you. Whether you’re a purist finger player or a hybrid finger/pick player we want to hear from you. We are all super high level musicians and are looking for the same from you. We’re all easy going and enjoy what we’re doing here. Our music is very structured. We are looking for someone who values and understands the genre and how the kick should interact with the bass. None of us overplay and we always try and cater to the song. Everyone will get moments where they stand out. You must have solid gear. We play in both 6 and 7 string tunings so it’s likely you will need 2 basses to properly cover these tunings(Drop C on 6 string CGCFAD and Drop B on 7 string AEADGBE). We also prefer you’re not in a bunch of bands. We’ve been through that and it doesn’t help this band move forward. We currently rehearse in the guitarists home studio in Milford, Ma on Thursdays from 730-930 roughly. We also are tracking, mixing and mastering the album there as well. We are using Mondays to track for the album and rehearse for any upcoming shows as needed, but Thursday is the current set in stone date. Nice to Have’s We are looking for someone we get along with who we trust. Ability to sing backups clean harmonies and screams are welcome. Creating content, art, social media savvy, booking shows, etc…. are also amazing things to bring to the table we need. Let us know your age, where you live, musical influences, gear and whatever else relevant. We assume you have been in other bands and in recordings so we’d love to hear about your time in those bands and hear your best material!
