Description

61 y.o. guitarist, but not old. Not well-trained either, but playing for almost 45 years, I have a lot of abilities that don't come quick. Very good ear and more than a fundamental understanding key, chords, harmony, etc. I'm not much of a front person, and it's been years since I've written anything, so I'm looking for, perhaps, an established band or someone with songs who is looking to put a band together. I love prog, though I'm no Steve Howe, John Petrucci or unreal shredder-type, but I like rock-oriented stuff that goes beyond I-IV-V. David Gilmour is my god (well, amongst many). Maybe like the Dead, but in their more jazzy/exploratory element than their easier listening stuff. At my age, I'm certainly not looking to make a buck, but I wouldn't turn that down. More about playing for the song, learning, growing, establishing friendships and having a hell of a lot of fun. Age means nothing to me. Last time I tried to create a project, my older friend and I found a drummer half our ages who worked out quite well (he may have another story!).That was a jazz/funk project that involved a lot of looping. I do not have an established rehearsal space, but would certainly be up for finding one that the whole band contributes to. If anything I've said here resonates, let's meet for a beer and see if creating something together might be the next step....
