This morning (Sat, December 25) I was walking Tecolote Canyon Trail (11am-12pm noon) and saw an Alsatian or German Shepherd puppy (one year or younger) running around with no collar.
Am guessing it could have escaped from the yard of a nearby home as it didn't look like it had been living rough. Wasn't able to get close enough to get hold of it but did managed to make sure it ran back toward the trail head as it was down by the road and batting cages.
Have emailed SD Humane Society and left a note with the park ranger. Will also post on Nextdoor.
