Free youth basketball clinic for ages 8-13. (The Mr. PA Football Foundation is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization) The Mr. PA Football Foundation is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization which was created to provide funding for a broad range of youth and high school sports. The organization supports the development of youth through participation in sports, encouraging sportsmanship, health and safety, character education, and academic excellence. The Mr. PA Football Foundation will be partnering with the experienced basketball training staff of Advanced Hoops. Advanced Hoops will be organizing and running the youth basketball camp/clinic. The focus of the event will be on every aspect of the game and on overall training of the player. The coaches will be teaching skills and various basketball drills at the clinic. There will be detailed instruction on ball handling, shooting, and proper defensive stance. In addition, there will be beginner drills taught that can be practiced at home. Don't miss out on the opportunity to learn from the best! Advanced Hoops officially began in the summer of 2001 under the direction of Charlie Fortney through "Summer Basketball Camps". For the past 20 years, Charlie has worked closely with Gerald Jarmon and other Professional Coaches to develop a Comprehensive Training Program that currently reaches well over 1500 kids annually. Advanced Hoops has become a Full-Time program that reaches kids from K-12th grade as well as College. They provide Year Round Basketball Training experience that offers classes in the areas of 5v5 instructional games, professional shooting & dribbling instruction, quickness & agility, and so much more. Covid-19 Guideline and Protocols will be followed. Participants will sign a Covid-19 waiver before participating in the clinic. Additionally, the Mr. PA Football Foundation has partnered with the Notre Club of Harrisburg and the Central PA Food Bank to raise awareness for a much-needed winter food drive. Please bring a non-perishable (i.e. canned goods) item to the clinic for a worthy cause. The programs supported by the organization will provide youth participants with safe and accessible places to play, as well as programs and initiatives that address the importance of proper coaching, health, safety and wellness, academic and life skills development and character education programs.
