The Changing Landscape of Healthcare Join Sanjay Singh, an entrepreneur and investor, and Mazi Rasulnia, CEO of Pack Health, in an important and timely discussion of the seismic shifts in healthcare. They will provide perspective on workforce challenges due to physician/nursing burnout and the acceleration of digital medicine and home-based care. They will also address the intersection of social and medical care – how a growing focus on social determinants of health impact payment and policy structures in healthcare. Mazi Rasulnia is an experienced researcher and business leader with over 15 years of experience. He completed his bachelors of science in Biology at the College of William and Mary and his MPH and MBA at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. There, he went on to complete his PhD in health services administration and a fellowship at the Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research and Education (COERE). He began his corporate career at Outcomes Inc, which provides company assessment services in the health education marketplace within the United States and globally. He served as President of Outcomes LLC from 2003, founded M Consulting LLC in 2013, and launched Pack Health in 2013. Throughout his time in the healthcare industry, Mazi has received multiple honors and awards. In 2011, Mazi was selected as one of the Top 40 under 40 by the Birmingham Business Journal and was selected in the UAB Excellence in Business Top 25 in 2015. He currently serves as President and CEO of Pack Health where he has played a key role in the economic development of Birmingham and grown the company to employ over 200 full-time employees. Sanjay Singh is an academic, entrepreneur, and an investor. Sanjay obtained his Ph.D. in Technology and Strategic Management from the University of Georgia. He was a faculty member at University of Alabama at Birmingham for 20 years, teaching and supervising theses for Master and Doctoral students in the Schools of Business, Engineering, Computer Science, and Healthcare Administration. Sanjay was a partner at CTS, a regional software firm that merged in 2017 with CGI (NYSE: GIB), a global leader in software engineering. Professionally, he serves on the boards of Pack Health, CS Equities, Oakworth Capital Bank, Immediate, Alabama Capital Network, and Founders Investment Bank. The Alabama Economics Club is dedicated to educating Alabama residents on the economic issues that effect our state and nation. As the official Alabama chapter of the National Association for Business Economics, the AEC organizes multiple meetings per year that bring in nationally-renowned speakers to discuss topics of national importance and local leaders to host roundtables on the issues that affect our state.
