My friend and I went downtown to eat and ditch. He went to get the car and never came back.
I was a frightened 15 year old white kid (he was African American) and you noticed the waitress giving me the check and waiting until I paid.
You paid the check and knew what was happening.
You were a beautiful black 16 year old. We went to Hyde Park to pay you back. We made out for a little while and my friend Alek drove us to drop you on 53rd and State (maybe Wabash?) at your grandmothers house. I called you only once, I think you called me once. (at that time I was heart broken because I didn't know what to do!)
I regret today that I never became your close friend. I think you were so intuitive, and incredible, and smart, and a great kisser. You new the trouble I was in and intuited how to help. Even after I tried to refuse you knew what to do.
Love to catch up now we're grown up. I wish you a Merry Christmas and happy holidays, to you and yours. Much love.
Cheers,
R.
