Description

Time for some 'sew'cializing! Come learn how to make a cute, zippered bag from a placemat. Looking for a great way to kick off 2021? Join us for a fun night of sewing! Studies have shown that sewing helps calm the nerves and reduce stress so we have planned an evening of fun sewing with sewing expert Toni Hall. Come learn valuable tips and tricks while sewing a cute zippered bag made from a placemat! You will be able to complete two bags during this class. Who: Adults interested in sewing, all experience levels When: Thursday, January 21, 2021, 6:00pm-7:30pm Where: USU Extension Office at the Washington County Legacy Park (county fairgrounds), 339 South 5500 West, Hurricane, UT What to bring: Please bring a sewing machine and basic sewing notions (thread, scissors, pins, etc.). If you have a cutting mat and rotary cutter, please bring it with you. If not, we have some to share. Also, if you do not have a sewing machine and would like to use one of ours, please reach out to [email protected] or call 435-634-5706 to reserve a machine. (We have limited supply so we prefer that you bring your own machine if possible.) How it works: We will provide the supplies for two bags, guidance on how to make them, and a light snack. Toni Hall, our amazing sewing instructor, will walk you through the project from preparing the fabric to constructing the bag. You are responsible for showing up, 'sew'cializing and enjoying good company, and learning a fun new project. Safety precautions: We will do our best to help everyone social distance, however, we ask that you bring a mask for when social distancing is not possible. Also, this event is subject to change depending on the county, state, and USU requirements for COVID protocol. If you have questions, please contact the Utah State University Extension office in Washington County at 435-634-5706 or email [email protected].
