Concerning your link to the New Yorker article concerning SPLC, YES I had seen an article years ago as I had prior knowledge of this organization. As a matter of fact, a SPLC donor had sent the article to me given that I some time prior attended an event where Dees and Cohen were speaking.
I have no reason or need to defend anything claimed in the article. Nor do I have any knowledge about the abuses described in the article other than reading that very article years ago. When organizations need change hopefully the change happens. Dees was fired and Cohen stepped down from what I remember.
The question is, is SPLC's monitoring of hate groups a little better then your monitoring?
You make an interesting comment:
"Their goal is to fool the foolish into thinking other hate groups are the racists. "
Something about the wording here is a little wacky to me.
I am guessing you know a bit about SPLC as you likely are a member of one of the groups they monitor. But yes, they have done great damage to the cause by having poor and abusive leadership and unfortunately one of those leaders was the organization's founder.
