Dear Ladies & Gentlemen: This a start-up,pass-the-hat opportunity. I've been making the open jam scene throughout greater NY for the last 16 years.A jam band differs from an ordinary band in that songs are not well rehearsed and there may be a rotating cast of musicians. You are acoustic guitarists,bassists, and percussionists. You are a dead serious, intermediate to advanced level players able to read simple chord charts, (C Am Dm G7) while listening to a song being played. You are drug & alcohol free,have a high quality instrument and are able to lead the jam on 3-5 songs without hesitation.Songs from public domain is a good place to start. We'll go into a studio for a jam / rehearsal(s). I will search for live music venues including bar / restaurants, churches, and not-for-profit social services organizations.Americana is contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, roots-rock, folk, bluegrass, R&B and blues, resulting in a distinctive roots-oriented sound that lives in a world apart from the pure forms of the genres upon which it may draw.
