Description
Hello!
I am a classically trained flautist, however I prefer to just use the term "flute player." I teach flute lessons and have been for about 7 years now. I have been educated in music and performing arts as a young child and never stopped performing, and this has been a wonderful tool to propell some students into the roles they desired. Whether a student has a goal, wants to explore music, or learn more about reading music on a staff, I can help with any.
I recently returned to a professional flute quintent and am also hoping to find a chamber ensemble. I also began teaching music basics to younger individuals after so many of my friends with kids were unable to find music lessons for their children. I developed a little 6 week session where we taught some 3-5 year old pre-schoolers some music basics, clapped to rhythms., and played on some supportive percussion, bongos, etc. This provides a nice, welcoming way to introduce someone young into music without having to feel intimidated or like they are not allowed to play the instruments. Needless to say, I am creating 2 more time slots to have additional lessons for all.
Along with this I do coach one intermediate flautist who is applying for graduate programs in performance, and one elementary school pupil. I also hold extensive experience working with individuals of different backgrounds and am highly skilled with individuals experiencing delays, illnesses, and/or sensory alterations of many kinds. This means no one is not eligible for these classes or for this community based upon any status other than to enrich.
Reasonable and flexible rates, of course. Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss and enjoy your New Year!
