Paris’ Story At the beginning of December I found an ad on Craigslist for a female Yorkie. The previous owner Francis Smith of Adams TN let me know that Paris was a well maintained, pad trained, spayed and vetted. The only truth out of her mouth was Paris had been spayed. She also said Paris was 6 years old but the records showing her spay records and pre-surgery blood work shows she is 8 years old. Paris was rescued by us from what I can only imagine was a puppy mill. We were told that she only had 2 litters of puppies in her lifetime, that I highly doubt. I’m sure it was many more. We took her to the vet to get her first round of shots and found out she had a double ear infection, ear mites, round worms, hook worms and was EXTREMELY malnourished. Now fast forward to two weeks later, her recheck for her ears all was good, fecal exam clear, she even gained 2oz (which in the scheme of things doesn’t sound like much, but it is). We did the biopsy of her upon examining a mass on her tummy, of which we were told it was milk duct issue, we find Paris has 2 areas where she has cancerous masses. This poor baby was in such deplorable conditions that Mrs. Frances Smith couldn’t even get Paris the proper medical treatment. Instead she, for lack of a better word, CONS someone else into giving her a “rehoming fee” just to be rid of her. I am writing this in hopes that it saves someone else the heartache and the financial burden Frances Smith has caused me.
