MLK Day of Service: Rancho Sierra Vista Barn Beautification

Come out on Sunday, January 16th from 10AM-1PM for MLK Day of Service and help beautify and maintain our horse barn and pastures. Volunteers are invited to help weed invasive vegetation from the horse pasture and clean out pipe stalls. Our park staff and our horses will be grateful for all your hard work and dedication! All ages are welcome, minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Volunteers should be prepared to stand for over an hour and be exposed to the weather (sun, wind, rain, etc) for extended periods of time. Please come prepared with proper outdoor working attire (long pants, hat), water, sunscreen, and snacks. Gloves and proper protective personal equipment will be provided. Training will be given at the start of the event. Directions: 1. Park in the main visitor parking lot: Car Park for Sycamore Canyon. Restrooms will be on the far end of the parking lot. 2. Walk past the left side of the bathrooms, past the Eucalyptus grove. 3. Look for NPS staff and our table in front of the horse barn. Volunteers must sign-in before heading into the barn area. Total walking time averages less than 3 minutes. If you are walking for longer you may be walking the wrong way! Call (805)370-2301 if you are lost.
