Man Accused Of Shooting Into Car In Tampa, Killing Woman

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Police have arrested a man accused of shooting into a car, killing one woman and wounding another. At 8:10 p.m. Dec. 1, two women were in a car at the intersection of West Grace Street and North Delaware Avenue when someone fired shots into the car. One woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died. The other is in stable condition. Police said they arrested Vakarvery Scott, 20, Wednesday with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service. He's been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm and shooting into an occupied vehicle. A second man, Alfonso Evans, 29, was arrested the night of the shooting and faces a felony charge of shooting into an occupied vehicle.
