Description

GREENDALE, WI — Changes to student mask and quarantine policies in the Greendale School District are set to take effect in January following decisions made in a Dec. 20 Board of Education meeting, the district said. Greendale Schools will continue to notify families of positive cases of COVID-19, but starting Jan. 3, the district plans to not enforce quarantines for close contacts of a case. Additionally, kindergarten through sixth grade is set to move to a masks strongly recommended policy on Jan. 31, the district announced Tuesday. The planned COVID-19 health guideline changes come with an ask from the board: administration is expected to develop guardrails to address the potential need for returning to more significant mitigation if needed in the future, according to the announcement. Those guardrails, to be outlined at a Jan. 10 board meeting, could be a measure of case counts or other data to ensure the district can provide the safest learning environment, the announcement said. More information about the planned COVID-19 mitigation updates can be found on the Greendale School District website.
