MANATEE COUNTY, FL — As residents get ready for holiday travel and family gatherings this season, the number of new COVID-19 cases is starting to surge in Florida.
On Wednesday, more than 20,000 new cases were reported in the state, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Those interested in getting a COVID-19 test in Manatee County can do so at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, which is located at 1 Haben Blvd. in Palmetto. It's operated by Manatee County and Nomi Health.
The site is open Christmas Eve from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is closed on Christmas Day. Through New Year's Eve the site is open normal daily hours 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The testing site will reopen Jan. 3 at a new location in the parking lot at the northwest corner of 8th Avenue and 14th Street West in Bradenton.
