Description
MARBLEHEAD, MA — The annual Marblehead Christmas Tree Bonfire is returning to Riverhead Beach.
The event, which was canceled last year amid the coronavirus health crisis, will be on Jan. 6 at 6 p.m.
The town curbside tree collection will take place from Dec. 27 through Jan. 7. All trees picked up prior to Jan. 6 will be brought to the beach for the fire.
After Jan. 7, trees should be brought to the town transfer station for proper disposal.
All trees left curbside should have all lights, ornaments and stands removed. They should not be put in plastic bags.
Any tree not meeting these requirements will not be picked up. Wreaths, roping and garland are also not eligible for recycling.
