Troop H Gets 2 New Police Dog Teams

HARTFORD COUNTY, CT — Eight police dog teams graduated Thursday as part of the 223rd Patrol Dog Class of the state police, including two from the Troop H barracks. The teams were trained for 15 weeks by the State Police Canine Unit at the Connecticut State Police Training Academy. The Patrol Dog teams were in training for 15 weeks. All are German shepherds. The Troop H teams are: Trooper Aaron Pelletier and police dog RossoTrooper First Class Christoper Porrini and police dog Jaris Canine teams are typically trained in the areas of obedience, patrol, locating missing persons, building searches, apprehending criminals, evidence recovery, crowd control, and protecting their handlers.
