Press release from the City of Austin: December 23, 2021 We had a situation with a woman who showed up at our church. We quickly realized that the situation was more than we could handle, which was when I called 9-1-1 and Officer Travis Franklin responded. He was very kind and explained what our options were, and spoke with the woman in a straightforward manner, but with compassion. We thanked him yesterday, but I would like him to know that his actions made a difference in a hard situation, and that his service to our city is greatly appreciated. He handled what was, for us, a very difficult situation, with kindness, compassion, and clear information on the options available to her. K.G.
