DENVER — Theodore Kaczynski has been moved from Florence, Colorado to a federal prison medical facility in North Carolina, multiple media outlets report.
Kaczynski, also known as the "Unabomber," will spend the rest of his life in prison. He pleaded guilty to a number of sending a number of bombs through the mail to recipients across the country from 1978 to 1995.
His cell was near the cells of other notorious criminals like Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and convicted World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, Court TV reported in 2011.
The Associated Press reported Kaczynski was moved to the FMC Butner medical center in eastern North Carolina on Dec. 14. A U.S. Bureau of Prisons spokesperson did not give details about why he was transferred.
