DENVER, CO — Trash pickup routes are changing in the New Year in Denver.
The city said the changes "are taking place to maintain the high level of service Denver residents have come to count on." Changes take effect Jan. 3 and will affect about 70 percent of customers.
The city said this is the first time a change has been made to trash collection routes in more than 15 years.
"These systemwide improvements will move drivers through the city more efficiently, will reduce the number of trucks needed to operate, reduce fuel use, and support Denver's sustainability goals," the city said in a news release.
Residents can check online to see when their trash pickup days are, call 311, or download the Denver Trash and Recycling App.
