In Colorado Springs, UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central is already well above 90 percent capacity for both inpatient and ICU beds. Although just 70 percent of inpatient beds and 79 percent of ICU beds in hospitals statewide are currently full, the CDC projects that new COVID-19 hospital admissions could reach 18,400 patients per day by Jan. 7 — far beyond the current average of 7,800 admissions per day. (Colorado Springs Patch) The Colorado Springs Police Department is currently seeking volunteers for a new victim advocacy unit, which will provide support and critical resources to crime victims in Colorado Springs. Volunteers will work side-by-side with the department's full-time staff and receive 72 hours of specialized training at the VAU Volunteer Victim Advocate Training Academy starting March 21, 2022.
