BOULDER, CO — Three hikers were rescued Wednesday across Boulder County, according to the sheriff's office, with two of the people transported to the hospital with injuries. Wednesday morning, a man called the sheriff's office to say he saw someone fall on Stairway to Heaven. Rangers from Boulder's Open Space and Mountain Parks and members of Rocky Mountain Rescue Group stabilized the patient, a 42-year-old Boulder woman, and carried her down in a stretcher. Another hiker fell Wednesday, the sheriff's office reported. The hiker's friends called the sheriff's office to say she had fallen on the Ranger Trail, and lost consciousness for a short time. The woman also said she had back pain. A city ranger and members of Rocky Mountain Rescue Group helped the 67-year-old Boulder woman walk to an ambulance. She was also taken to a hospital. And, man was rescued Wednesday after losing the trail while hiking. The 34-year-old called the sheriff's office around 5:35 p.m. to say he had gotten lost, the Sheriff's Office said. A ranger from City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks used GPS to figure out the man's location, find him, and escort him to the trailhead. The man had been between the Mallory Cave Trail and Bear Canyon Trail, according to a news release. The sheriff's office said the man was dehydrated, but otherwise fine.
