PORTSMOUTH, NH — LizFit, a Portsmouth- based fitness studio raised $119,461 for 7 local charities in one week alone, just in time for the holiday season. The fitness studio conducted its 10th annual "Spinning Generosity" event, where participants from around New Hampshire come together to enjoy group spin classes, raising money for organizations along the Seacoast. Those organizations included were Gather, Families First, End 68 Hours Of Hunger, Girls On The Run, Step Up Parents, Community Toolbox, and Haven. Always wanting to go above and beyond, LizFit owner Liz Forkel and her team set out to raise more money than ever before, setting a massive goal of raising $100,000. The community showed up, and the financial goals were not only met, but went far beyond what the team, volunteers, and organization leaders could have imagined. "We are grateful to be in a position to give back to our neighbors in need through this yearly event, and are so thankful to our community for making it possible," says Forkel. "This is a year like no other and we can't wait to see the good that this money does here on the Seacoast."
