Shirley is part of our family. Sweet & unusually quiet budgie. Not 1 year old quiet yet. She would be great for someone who might enjoy a small bird but rather not have all the noise. An elderly person or just about anyone except young kids. We love Shirley & we're rehoming her because its best for her. Our other two budgies harass & peck at her. Maybe because they've bonded so she's the odd one out despite her beauty & demur quiet personality. We thought we could quickly remedy the problem. We put her in her very own cage...our travel cage but the poor girl cried & cried because she would rather be with them despite the bad situation even though she was inches away. They're flock animals & she needs you as part of her flock. We took her to a bedroom but once she heard them she would call out & its sad. She does not make a peep if they are covered or she wakes up 1st & its not until we open the blinds does she hear them & she seems lonely. When they were away she never made a sound & entertained herself with toys watching TV & watching us. She does not bite but until she is trained she will not come out on her own. She's not fearful of humans just shy. Budgies bond very fast & very easily when they are the only budgie. The vet was supposed to clip her tonails but when we got home he had clipped her wings too. It will make hand taming her easier but in time they will grow out. Her colouration or mutation rather is called pied. Not the common blue or green. Shes a girl & was dna sexed. Shes mostly white. She has cranberry on her face in the pics otherwise her face is pure white. She's got many years in front of her. She just had her 1 yr check up a little early. She only likes Roudybush maintenence pellets. We give her budgie seed for about an hour a day after 5 pm & offer a mix of fresh greens with usually a berry or some sort of fruit. We believe after love & time nutrition is number 1! Shes a great Australian Budgie. Please, really good home only. Homes that can continue her food. Ill post a pic of it. She's unusual & quiet so she might even be happy in an older child's bedroom. I would never recommend a parrot for a child but Shirley is one of a kind & with caring adults would do well. Play budgie sounds on YouTube if you're not home. Leave her be the 1st 3 days & allow her to adjust to her new cage, new home & you. Just talk to her the 1st few days. No cats please!
