DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A bike store was burglarized, wallets were stolen from purses and other crimes were reported on the Downers Grove police blotter for mid-December. Trek Bicycle Shop Burglarized Police say video surveillance shows two people broke into the Trek Bicycle Shop at 639 Ogden Ave. on Dec. 14. The store manager told police a window on the south side of the bike shop had been shattered, which triggered an alarm around 5:18 a.m. Two Trek bicycles, valued at $2,000 each, were reported stolen. Wallet Stolen from Purse at Ross Dress for Less A woman told police her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was shopping at Ross Dress for Less, 1316 Butterfield Rd. on Dec. 18. She said the purse had been on top of the stroller she was pushing. The following items were reported stolen: Cashier's check for $20,000 $830 cash Credit cards ID cards Prescription medicine Wallet Stolen from Purse at Universal Spa Training Academy Police say a woman reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was at Universal Spa Training Academy, 340 Burlington Ave., on Dec. 10.
